Equal parts style maven and free spirit, Kate Thorson arrived at the art of jewelry design as she does any endeavor—naturally. Inspired by her own meditative visions, she creates pieces that speak to the active relationship between inner and outer beauty. A lifelong gypsetter and avid adventurer, she carried her vocation with her to the sacred temples of India, where she received the name “Uma” meaning “fully enlightened Goddess.” Recognizing the importance of a woman’s hands in manifesting her own unique path, Thorson began casting a collection of symbolic rings in pure precious metals. She continues to expand her line with heirloom quality necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, inspired adornments created at her home in the storied Laurel Canyon community of Los Angeles.
